Vision tests for driving licences and permits
An eyesight test is a legal requirement for obtaining a learner’s licence (Lernfahrausweis), and we carry out the test here at the practice. We check your visual acuity, field of vision and eye movements, and record the result on the official form, which you then receive.
The test must be no more than two years old when you apply. If you meet the required standard with glasses or contact lenses, this is noted on the form, and you are then required to wear them whenever you drive.
Higher requirements apply to lorry and bus licence categories and to professional passenger transport. When booking your appointment, please tell us which category the test is for so that we can make the necessary preparations.
